Jiten’s Jobs Finale : What The CV Doesn’t Tell You
A CV is corporate life after somebody has wiped the fingerprints off. Dates become neat little rows, employers become prestigious
Jiten’s Jobs follows the employment-law career of Jiten Kotecha before and during his rise to senior in-house counsel at Cummins. From Pinsent Masons and KPMG to shorter experience with Olswang and John Lewis, the series goes back through the institutions, transactions and workplace controversies surrounding the professional world that helped shape a corporate employment lawyer.
This is not CV archaeology for its own sake. Each instalment puts one stop on the career ladder under the light: employment lawyers facing redundancy, gender-pay-gap specialists working inside organisations with substantial gender pay gaps, multimillion-pound holiday-pay mistakes, corporate restructures and the perennial business of converting messy workplace problems into manageable legal risk.
Eventually, the ladder reaches Cummins. By then, Jiten Kotecha was not a trainee learning what an employment dispute looked like. He had spent years inside major law firms, professional-services organisations and corporate legal functions. Jiten’s Jobs follows the route to the chair – then looks at what happened when the file landed on the desk.
